Cell Phones for Safety
Clackamas Women’s Services (CWS) has partnered with Shelter Alliance in a used cell phone drive to help survivors of domestic violence in Clackamas County. You can make a difference in the lives of women and children seeking a future free of violence simply by donating your old cell phone (but please donate any accessories elsewhere).
For every cell phone collected, CWS will receive up to $25 or a woman will receive an emergency 911 phone!
Cell Phone Donation
We accept all cell phones (but we do not accept any accessories), and especially welcome the following models: Nokia 3120, LG VX440, Motorola V600, Motorola 730C, Motorola IDEN 1730, Samsung SGHS105, Motorola V300, Nokia 6200.
Your cell phone will help women and children escaping violence. With the abundance of old cell phones, most of the phones will be sent to Shelter Alliance, an agency that works with domestic violence shelters nationwide. They will send money directly to CWS for every phone donated (up to $25 per phone). Once a phone reaches Shelter Alliance, it is either reused or recycled according to the strictest of environmental standards.
A number of the phones will be kept at CWS to give to clients in need of an emergency 911 phone.
