Although it is only summer, we are busy preparing
for our two big annual
events, the Harvest of Hope
Luncheon in the fall and the Gala & Silent Auction
this winter.
Harvest of Hope Luncheon This year we
will host our annual fundraising luncheon on
Wednesday, October 11th at the Gray Gable Estate in
Milwaukie, OR. The Harvest of Hope luncheon is a
wonderful time to introduce people you know to
Clackamas Women’s Services. We provide lunch and
ask you to introduce us to someone you believe would
like to be a CWS supporter. Our presentations are
always informative, the food delicious and it is a
nice way to honor domestic violence awareness
month
in October. If you would like to be a table host at
this event and bring 3-7 folks with you to the
luncheon, please contact Meghan at 503.722.2366
x104.
Gala & Silent Auction
Grab your sunscreen and sarong, because this year
CWS is taking you to paradise! Join us Saturday,
February 24th at the Abernathy Center in Oregon
City. More details to come soon...

| Clackamas County Takes Back the Night |
 |
|
CWS volunteers, staff, Clackamas Community College
(CCC) students and community partners joined
together on the CCC campus April 19, 2006 to march,
share
personal experiences with violence, and speak out
against sexual assault. Traci Boyle, CWS Outreach
Coordinator and organizer of the night's
festivities, introduced the evening as a first for
Clackamas County. Over the past three decades,
Take
Back the Night events have provided countless
college students, activists and community members
with an opportunity to voice their outrage while
challenging the stereotypes and myths that
perpetrate
sexual violence. The partnership
between CWS and CCC will hopefully create more
opportunities to expand TBTN within Clackamas
County, perhaps making it an annual event.

| Lend A Helping Hand |

CWS has a fresh batch of new volunteers, 12 to
be exact! These new recruits will join our current
volunteers by assisting CWS staff in the Children’s
Program, Office Assistance and Fundraising. Thanks
to the Lake Oswego Mom’s club, who often volunteer
to
help out during event preparation, we will be the
recipients of donated goods during their annual
Christmas In July food drive. This is a great
opportunity for CWS as donations often run low
during the summer months. We also just celebrated
our first Volunteer Appreciation BBQ at the M.S.
Young Park in West Linn. It was a great opportunity
to thank our volunteers for all their hard work and
dedication to our cause. If you are
interested in
learning more about our volunteer
opportunities or
in-kind donations, please contact Irene, CWS
Volunteer Coordinator at
503.722.2366 x105.
