DESCRIPTION:Are you passionate about supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence? Do you want to learn more about how we can make our communities safer for everyone? Join the Summer 2025 Community Education & Prevention Series! \nThe CWS Community Education & Prevention Series (previously Domestic Violence Advocacy Training) offers learning opportunities on topics related to domestic and sexual violence\, trauma-informed care\, and working with survivors. \nAppropriate for social service providers\, caseworkers\, advocates\, counselors/therapists\, law enforcement\, legal professionals\, and members of the greater community\, this series is designed to build skills in supporting survivors of domestic violence\, understanding impacts of trauma\, and addressing societal frameworks that normalize violence. \nIf seeking confidential advocate status in Oregon\, these workshops can help fulfill the training requirements as set out in ORS 40.264 (2015) and OAR 137-085. \nThis training session will be held from 1:00pm-3:15pm in person. SUMMARY:A Window Between Worlds
DESCRIPTION:A Window Between Worlds \nProviding children who have experienced trauma and transition a window of time where they can feel safe and supported while discovering who they are through creative expression. \nWho: Workshops are open to youth 7-17 years old \nWhat: Participants can follow along with weekly art projects but are welcome to use AWBW as a window of time to participate however they choose! Workshop topics include: Self-esteem\, managing anger\, creating safety\, expressing emotions\, and more. \nWhen: Every Tuesday. AWBW is a drop-in group\, and participants are welcome to drop in at any point (participation is not required on a weekly basis).  The Children’s Group (ages 7-11) will be hosted from 4:30pm-5:30pm\, and the Teen Group (ages 11-17) will be hosted from 6pm-7pm. \nWhere: A Safe Place Family Justice Center \nCost: Free \nTo sign-up call 503.908.9411 or email youthteam@cwsor.org.
