Violence Prevention Programming

CWS offers a 10-session curriculum originally developed by the Sexual Assault Resource Center of Washington County and recognized as a model curriculum by the Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force. The curriculum was adapted by our Violence Prevention Team to incorporate relationship violence prevention and made developmentally appropriate for middle school students. Sessions include:

  • Dynamics of Dating Violence
  • Oppression
  • Gender Socialization & Identities
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Media Literacy
  • Relationship between Pornography and Violence
  • Victim Empathy
  • Bystander Intervention Practical Application

Presentations are usually given during Health class in cooperation with the teachers to meet state and national health education standards. .
